Meet Becky Biler: Head of Corporate Partnerships at FodaBox
Anyone who has placed a corporate order with FodaBox is likely to have been lucky enough to have spoken with Becky. Always enthusiastic, she lives and breathes all things corporate, and thrives on helping our clients create memorable and thoughtful experiences for their customers and employees.
Hi Becky! Firstly what exactly is your role at FodaBox?
Hi! I am responsible for the Corporate department at FodaBox. I make sure that we’re on track to be known as the ‘Home of Great Food and Drink,’ with an impressive Corporate Food and Drink Division.
What were you doing before this role, and how did you end up working for FodaBox?
My background has always been Office / Operations in conjunction with Human Resources. In April 2020 I was unfortunately made redundant and reached out to Andy to see if he required any extra resource during a crazy period for FodaBox. I’ve never left and it's been over a year. It's been a whirlwind to say the least!
Why do you think corporate gifting and employee recognition are so important for modern companies?
A really good question. The working environment is changing rapidly and I think COVID had a massive effect. Employees are working harder and smarter and employers are recognising that rewarding staff to feel appreciated makes all the difference. We often hear feedback such as ‘our team absolutely loved the products and it was a lovely surprise’. We all love being given a surprise gift, right?!
What is a typical day for you? Any routines you can’t live without?
There are no typical days at FodaBox. To be honest I don’t necessarily have any specific routines, I am pretty low maintenance in that respect, however something that is very important to me is having Open Communication. I make sure that I talk to everyone, all day, every day. Throughout my career I have picked up along the way that communication is key. I love to learn from my colleagues and without communicating with each other, you will never grow as an individual.
Tell us about a time that you faced a challenging request, but pulled it off.
Dare I say the word “Christmas”? Christmas was a steep learning curve not only for FodaBox but other food and beverage outlets as well. We not only had the christmas period but also COVID to contend with. It was challenging for the whole team but we grew from it and are back much stronger and ready for December 2021. We can’t wait to take your orders!
Tell us about your ultimate comfort food.
Everything! In all honesty I am an absolute foodie. My dad is from Cyprus so I get to taste delicious Cypriot delicacies regularly, however my ultimate food sin would be fresh bakery bread with cheese. I can’t get enough!
What is your favourite FodaBox product, and why?
Hands down, Joe and Seph’s Popcorn. It is absolutely delicious and the flavours are just incredible. My family are also huge fans. It’s easily the most delicious popcorn I have ever had the pleasure of tasting!
With a phased return to work following the lifting of COVID restrictions, what would be your advice for businesses looking to treat their employees through gifts or events, or providing snacks in the office?
My advice for businesses would be to look into the likes of Google, Facebook, Twitter and large corporations who are not shy with rewarding their employees either remotely or providing office snacks. It's a known fact that employees are likely to work harder when they feel valued and appreciated and that includes benefits such as office snacks and gifts. A small gesture goes a long way.
What is your vision for the next 5 years at FodaBox Corporate?
I am very lucky to work with Andy, our CEO who is an amazing visionary. He has a clear vision of what FodaBox will look like in years to come and I am excited to jump on this journey to help build our corporate team. I think we both share the same passion to ensure our Corporate department is successful and known to the public to be the leading corporate giftingcompany but also responsible for B2B food and beverage. Our aim is to be supplying F&B to every single company in the UK. Watch this space.
What is your favourite thing about working for FodaBox Corporate?
My favourite thing about working for the Corporate team is when we pull off an exceptional order for our customers. Their positive feedback really does make the role worthwhile. A lot of effort goes into organising corporate gifting from not only the customers perspective but our internal operations team work extremely hard. It's a combined effort but worthwhile when we receive tremendous feedback.
