LGBTQ+ Venues And Spaces To Support This September

Although the actual parade did not go ahead for London Pride on the 11th September, there is still plenty of opportunity to acknowledge the importance of Pride, support LGBTQ+ causes, and celebrate in style.

As well as our limited edition Pride hampers, from which 100% of proceeds will go to akt, we want to put the spotlight onto LGBTQ+ friendly venues and events in London. These are spaces where people can go to feel welcome and safe, and to support LGBTQ+ business owners.

So, read on to discover more about the hottest spots and not-to-be-missed events in London.

This is a must for those who love a leisurely brunch. Labelled as the UK’s biggest drag brunch, you’ll enjoy performances from 15 incredible queens serving nothing but vibes. For the rest of the afternoon, live DJs keep the atmosphere buzzing.

Included in your ticket is 90 minutes of delicious, bottomless cocktails, plus you’ll receive a voucher to use at one of the Boxpark street vendors. This is the perfect way to spend time with your besties and enjoy some incredible queer culture this September.

An East London LGBTQ+ institution, Dalston Superstore is a multi-functional space that works as a club, cafe, cabaret, gallery and community space. Superstore hosts some of the best LGBTQ+ events in the calendar, from unforgettable club nights to legendary drag brunches.

They are currently hosting Essential Vegan in their dine-in and takeaway kitchen, allowing you to get your hands on indulgent vegan comfort food, inspired by the flavours of Brazil.

Their cocktail menu is exciting, vibrant and constantly evolving. Whether you are into your classics, or you love to discover new and experimental flavours, they have something for everyone.

Strategically located at the epicentre of gay Soho (directly opposite Caffe Nero), this 24-hour café bar has become one of the most popular gay hangouts on Old Compton Street.

During long summer days, the windows are opened, shades lowered and tables set out along the street. Many stop by BALANS for a cold beer or coffee, but the café does serve a range of popular dishes, from bacon sandwiches at breakfast, to burgers and fish & chips.

A newly opened LGBTQ+ owned restaurant in London, “Yes Please” promises an inclusive and fun environment, paired with amazing food and drink. This inclusive and open energy is made obvious by the large central table, made for conversation and sharing.

The menu is made up of what they have self-titled “camp small plates”, featuring colouful and playful food such as pink burrata, oysters and fried artichokes. These are a match made in heaven with their huge range of delicious cocktails and natural wines.
